Meta, formerly known as Facebook is the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp among various other companies. The name of the company was changed from Facebook to Meta to align with the company’s vision of helping to bring Metaverse to life. According to Meta, Metaverse will be the next evolution of Social Connection. Metaverse will be a virtual 3D world which will let people socialize, learn, collaborate, and play in the shared virtual world. This will be achieved through development of new and innovative technologies such as Virtual Reality(VR), Augmented Reality(AR), Mixed Reality(MR), Extended Reality(ER), and along with hardware advancements such as Smart Glasses. Meta is organizing a virtual event to discuss about the advances in technology and their use for building Metaverse- ‘Building for the Metaverse with AI’ on 23rd February 2022. The talk will also consist of societal aspects of Metaverse.
The event will consist of various experts in the field talking about the use of AI for building Metaverse. The agenda of the virtual meet be specifically on the following topics-

The opening session of the Virtual Event will be delivered by the founder and CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg. During the opening session, Mark Zuckerberg will talk about about how the current breakthrough research and future big bets will lay the groundwork for a new class of creative and immersive experiences today, and in the metaverse tomorrow.
Unlocking the Metaverse with AI and Open Science
Speaker: Joelle Pineau and Jerome Pesenti
In this session, the speakers will share more about Meta AI’s unique set of assets and capabilities, along with the latest breakthroughs Meta has been making in areas like self-supervised learning, embodiment & robotics, and creativity.
