Qiskit Global Summer School is back in 2022 on Popular Demand!

Qiskit is an open-source software development kit(SDK) by IBM for working with Quantum Computers and Classical Computers simulating Quantum Computers. The Qiskit community consists of Software Engineers, Quantum Computing Engineers, and other experts who are enthusiastic about Quantum Computing and are promoting it and its applications and uses. Qiskit community regularly organizes, among multiple events, the Qiskit Global Summer School, a virtual event where people can learn an application of Quantum Computing from experts. The Qiskit Community has decided to bring back the Qiskit Global Summer School in 2022 on popular demand. The official Qiskit account informed this decision on Twitter.

Third Time’s a Charm

Qiskit community has organized Qiskit Global Summer School consecutively for the last 2 years. The maiden edition of Qiskit Global Summer School which was held in 2020 and was focused on Quantum Computing and Quantum Hardware while the second edition of the Qiskit Global Summer School in 2021 focused on Quantum Machine Learning. Additionally, Qiskit Community and IBM will also host a Quantum Error IBM Quantum Error Correction Summer School, a month-long in-person event from 5^th July to 30^th July 2022.

The third edition of the Qiskit Global Summer School being held in 2022 will be focused on introduction to quantum computing and its applications to quantum simulation, with a specific focus on quantum chemistry.

About the Global Summer School

The Global Summer School will be a 2-week virtual event that will consist of theory lectures from experts and practice lab sessions.

What are the Fees/ Charges for the Qiskit Global Summer School?

Zero. Zilch. Nada. You don’t pay anything. The Qiskit Global Summer School is a free event. The number of seats is however limited which will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

How Long will the event last?

The event will last for 2 weeks from July 18 – 29, 2022.

Will the entire event be virtual?

Yes!

The Early Bird Registration for the event will open at 12:00 PM EST on May 26, 2022. There will be a fixed number of spots available and registration will be based on a first come first serve basis.

Once the registration opens, you can register yourself for the event from this page.

There will be a second round of registrations for those who could not get a spot in the first round. The date for the second round of registration will be announced soon after the first round of registration is complete.

Not only this. If for some reason you are not able to get a spot for yourself in the second round of registration as well, all the event videos will be recorded and made available on Youtube.
